"HOT" Classes

(“Hands on Training”)

“Hot” classes involve “Hands on Training” of the skills firefighters use on the fireground or at MVAs.   If you throw ground ladders at structure fires, cut vent holes in roofs, advance an initial attack line, lay the 5” supply line, use positive pressure ventilation, stabilize a vehicle at an MVA, use handtools for extrication until the heavy rescue arrives, then HOT classes will provide a review for the veteran firefighter or an introduction for the newer firefighter.

The classes run from 2 to 4 hours and are taught at your station.  You can invite firefighters from your mutual aid companies.  After all, these are the firefighters you depend on to help you at your calls.

To schedule a class, Chiefs and department training officers contact any of the Bradford County instructors (all of them are state certified) to make the arrangements (they are listed on the link “About Us” at the BC Fire Training website).

The only costs are for materials you will use in the class and mileage for the instructor so it’s a relatively economical way for your department’s veterans to review fireground skills and for your new members to be introduced to fire service training.

So HOT Classes” are convenient, economical, short, allow you to train with firefighters from neighboring departments, and deal with the skills you use on the fireground.
